
Tom Powers
Director of Safety – Plant Operations Support, RRT Design & Construction
Tom Powers grew up on a farm in the Finger Lakes region of Central New York. He is one of seven siblings and no stranger to demanding work and long hours. His formal studies include an AS in Math/Science and a BS in Environmental Studies. His 40-plus year career has spanned health, safety, environmental compliance and various recycling and operations management roles. Since September 2022,Tom has served as director of safety for RRT Design & Construction, also providing plant operations support to RRT clients.
Tom returned to Central New York from Spring, Texas, in late 2023. He has held several public service and board positions, including SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry Alumni Association, Town of Scipio, New York, Planning Board, Bayou Preservation Association (Houston) and Hope Center Houston. Tom currently volunteers at the Food Bank of Central New York and various events through Good Shepherd Catholic Community, where he is a lector and member of the Pastoral Council.
Tom has two daughters, one in The Netherlands and the other in Tennessee. He enjoys cooking, golf, reading, traveling and volunteering.
