Managing Director, National Recovery Technologies
Chris Ulum is the Managing Director of National Recovery Technologies (NRT), a division of Bulk Handling Systems. NRT is a global provider of optical and robotic sorting solutions to the waste processing and recycling industries. NRT leverages its proprietary near-infrared, RGB, artificial intelligence and controls software technologies, combined with the waste processing systems expertise of BHS, to provide the most advanced sorting capabilities in the world. Most recently, Chris Ulum was Vice President of Business Development at AbSci, a synthetic biology company (Nasdaq: ABSI) based in Vancouver, WA. Prior to that, he was a Business Development Executive with IBM Research, working primarily on AI-related Joint Development and Technology License Agreements.
Before IBM Chris served as the Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Agilyx Corporation (AGLX.OL), raising over $73 million in venture capital and strategic financing, growing the company to over 65 employees and $40 million in revenue and backlog. Agilyx pioneered some of the very first waste plastic to oil/chemical facilities in the world, paving the way for the company’s IPO in 2020. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University and an MBA degree from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
